[ Okay. Yeah. So she might have left him on read for a while, but in her defense, a solid chunk of that time was spent typing, deleting, and retyping a reply. This isn't just anyone, here. This is the Cute Boy she smooched while high as balls on stupid cherub arrow drugs! It's very serious!!!!
On her end, Mayou's leg bounces restlessly while racking her brain, frowning down at her device. She can't just say whatever. It has to be something cool, but not rude... somewhere in that sweet spot goldilocks zone in between. ]

[ Following the first shot fired in the official exclusive-benefits-club-exchanging-of-tokens, a little something will appear outside Mayou's door:

A small, squat cactus in a chipped terra cotta pot. It has two stubby arms and one single bloom on it. It's accompanied by a note with unremarkable and maybe even kind of bad penmanship — "Still working on the membership cards, but in the meantime, I hope this serves as a reminder. There's a legend in the Outer Ring that the souls of people who live there become gods called 'Poto Poto'. They live in cacti, big and small. This little one is happiest near a heat source.

And if she happens to test that theory, she'll find that the bloom on the cactus never withers, but its color and scent increase when warm. ]

I don't have too much information on this curse, but maybe this will help.

She says she has trouble around "newer technology." Sometimes her watch screen stops responding to touch controls, or the screen starts flickering unexpectedly.

I thought her watch might be broken, but she says she has trouble with other electronics too.

( Esikko is a nosy little prince, it turns out. Mayou has already known as much, he's sure, and honestly, if there's anyone who could understand his desire for information, for gossip, for learning more especially about the people he cares for, it's her.

So, it feels amazingly easy to come up with her gift. On the morning of her birthday, she'll have to deal with the staff member Esikko has paid off to deliver this knocking incessantly until she accepts the delivery. Wouldn't want this falling into anyone else's hands, after all.

The gift is tucked neatly behind gold and white tissue paper in a bag that matches, with a cute little "happy birthday" written in cursive font. It's a certain style of compact mirror, fancy and decorated on the top in a variety of lovely colors depicting peony flowers. Healing flowers, not that she needs to know that. More importantly, his card has a little guidance as to what this really is, in case she can't feel the magic woven into it already.

A not so little birdie told me it was your birthday today. Happy birthday, Mayou.

I've given you a fun little toy. This mirror has a spell woven into it to allow you glimpses of others here in the resort. Some may call it "spying," but I like to call it healthy curiosity.

Of course, it's not as reliable as a spell in a place like this, so it may be finicky. Still, I hope it brings some entertainment.
